Learn How This Family Grows 6,000 Lbs Of Food on Just 1/10th Acre!

“Growing your own food is like printing your own money.”

Ron Finley

The greatest threat to any government, corporation, or bank, is an independent, self sufficient human being; and central to this independence, is the ability to grow one’s own food.

Whether inspired by the instability of the financial system and the prospect of a potential global collapse, the desire to stick it to the system, or just because it’s a hobby, more and more people are beginning to educate themselves on how they can grow their own food, regardless of how small their garden or residence might be.

The Dervaes family are at the forefront of this revolution. They live in the city on just 1/10th of an acre, outside of downtown L.A., and manage to produce approximately 6,000 pounds of vegetables, thousands of duck and chicken eggs, 25 lbs of raw honey, and lots of fresh organic seasonal fruit. They have goats, fish, and over 400 species of plants! According to Mother Earth Living News, “The Dervaeses’ operation is about 60 to 150 times as efficient as their industrial competitors, without relying on chemical fertilizers and pesticides.”

The family — who subscribes to a vegetarian diet — produces so much food, that they also make an additional $20,000 a year. Organic food has become so popular, and the market for it continues to grow so much, that they have a constant demand for their fresh produce. Even chefs and local restaurants seek out their organic pesticide-free food.

The Dervaes family are not just focused on being food independent, however, they are also focused on energy independence, and currently only spend about $12 a month on electricity. They are aiming to go completely “off grid” and be as free from the system as possible.
